Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver Test Strategy document by collaborating with developers, architects, product owners and business
  • Identifies testing scope across multiple test levels
  • Interfaces with Architects, Senior Developers and Product Owners to clarify requirements
  • Works independently to develop and test programs of varying complexity and scope for SAP modules
  • Establish and implement approach for managing test data
  • Extend verification points to ensure function point failures are not repeated
  • Perform execution of automated and/or manual test cases and report on results
  • Maintain test assets/library
  • Verify defects through analysis to confirm application failure or maintenance required on test assets
  • Report clear concise defects discovered through testing and escalate where appropriate
  • Analyzing opportunities for automation of test execution, results analysis, test data creation and environment configuration
  • Identification of test environment configuration necessary to support test execution
  • Analyzes for opportunities to increase testing efficiencies in development deliverables
  • Identification of root cause for test failures
  • Works within the project team and test team to address issues and report status
  • Works with the Developers to collaborate on deliveries to test environments and debugging of results
  • Coordinates manual and/or automated test execution with other team members
  • Analyze functional requirements and system design to determine test strategy/plan for both manual and automated testing approach
  • Develop manual and/or automated test cases based upon test strategy and test coverage
  • Help develop test tools and techniques based upon the test strategy and coverage; Extend test automation frameworks to support test strategy
  • Work with Developers on defining deliverables based upon test strategy
  • Execute test cases and analyze failures for root cause
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the test execution and analysis of results
  • Provide recommendations in the area around test automation strategies, tool selection and test environment configuration across products
  • Decision making opportunities in the areas of functional test coverage, metrics analysis and quality assessment
  • Evaluation/selection of appropriate tests, testing methods, etc., leveraging technical expertise to make independent decision
