The role is very dynamic with interactions among many stakeholders - from traditional software development teams to front line construction workers. You will work with team members locally and across the globe to troubleshoot and improve current applications. The Back-end Developer will use his or her understanding of programming languages and tools to analyze current codes and industry developments, formulate more efficient integrated solutions, solve problems, and create a more seamless experience for users. You should have excellent communication, computer, and project management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience.
  • Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
  • Act as a key North American support resource for the user base in a rapidly changing, “minute by minute” industry (>3,000 Active Users).
  • Leading the development of interfacing legacy solutions/systems/data with the ConcreteDirect mobile platform.
  • Recording data and reporting it to proper parties, such as clients or leadership.
  • Participating in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices, learn new programming languages, and better assist other team members.
  • Developing ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends.
  • Taking lead on projects, as needed.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.

Qualifications:

Required Computer and Software Skills: Highly proficient in AWS/Cloud infrastructure (Native services on AWS - DevOps, continuous integration and continuous delivery, AWS serverless technology, docker and container technology), JavaScript, Java, .NET. Experience with graphical design software tools, agile product development software/methodology.
 
Additional Requirements:
  • Experience working with remote teams is a strong asset.
  • Experience with mobile technologies (iOS & Android) is a strong asset.
  • Experience working in a corporate IT environment is considered an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects / priorities.
  • Strong customer focus and sense of urgency/flexibility to business needs.
  • Ability to work remotely with little direct supervision.
  • Interest in networking within the local Start-up ecosystem/representing the company at events.
