Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Stakeholders to execute BI (Business Intelligence) & DW (Data Warehouse) projects. This includes outlining specific technical deliverables, provide input to project plans and milestones.
  • Provide technical leadership for reporting projects with strong data visualization and design skills.
  • Support the BI environment, providing data, analysis and insight to internal clients throughout enterprise (International, North America, Corporate), including but not limited to Marketing, Revenue Management, Reservations, Gold Passport, Operations, Marketing, Sales, and eCommerce.
  • Lead key project activities – architecture, design, development, QA/QC and deployment of new BI programs and projects. Communicate project plans and status with stake holders.
  • Promote and facilitate the development of self-service capabilities for the business in the access and reporting of business information.
  • Develop technical deliverables and review technical documents.
  • Lead efforts to define, implement, and consistently exercise information management best practices across the organization. Identify and implement industry best practices. Ensure data integrity of all systems.
  • Work closely with the IT liaisons and external services providers to improve and optimize global infrastructure for BI to deliver superb performance and end user experience.
  • Contribute to the design and support of the DW environment, including information & data acquisition, management and delivery solutions

Required Skills

  • Extensive use of and expertise in Tableau desktop
  • Should have advanced Tableau visualizations development skills. Some of the key skills within Tableau are guided analytics, advanced visualizations (quadrants, bullet charts, multiple marks, etc) and making complex data simple to understand as well as to tell compelling stories
  • The candidate should have strong knowledge of database concepts and SQL
  • Performance tuning of reports, dashboards and server loads
  • Must be capable of handling complex upgrades/migrations and installations
  • Experienced with implementation of LOD calcs, Parameters, Filters, Groups and Sets in Tableau.
  • Familiarity with databases –IBM DB2, Redshift and Hadoop ecosystem.
  • Experience with Allteryx is preferred
  • Hands on experience with programming languages is preferred – Python or other programming language
  • Familiarity with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
