Job Description
    • Develop Java 1.8 upgrade solutions at all layers of the application.
    • Work with team to understand Java 1.8 code migration objectives, dependencies, code priorities.
    • Compile the entire Java 1.6 code base in Java 1.8, monitor compile errors and warnings, and identify backlog of Java coding changes that need to be solutioned, developed, tested, and certified as functioning in the Java 1.8 environment. Leverage compatibility analyzers, forbidden API s, Modernizer Maven plugin.
    • Provide expertise in Java 1.8 migrations; Lambda expressions, Streams API, Java String deduplication
    • Develop, articulate, document, and deliver a logical plan for code migration data access layer, web services, MVC Web layer, JEE/EJB / WebSphere.
    • Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements Java software programming applications including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSP, Struts, Maven, and WebSphere technologies.
    • Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements Java software programming RESTful web services, Struts and Spring MVC.
    • Develop Java data access layer solutions using Hibernate ORM, JDBC connections Oracle SQL Server.
    • Engineer Java code migration solution expertise staying aware of major differences in 1.8 (Lambda expressions, parallel array sorting, bulk data operations for collections, new data & time API, small VM, and removing permanent generation).
    • Participate in testing new Java 1.8 code to ensure feature functionality parity. Support Java testing through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of Java 1.8 software.
    • Provide ongoing Java coding application escalation support in cases of user errors, root cause analysis, Java coding solutions, testing, and regression testing of developed solution, and Java Maven publishing of resolved code base to production.
    • Ensure new code base is fully 1.8 compliance and will allow for patches and support from oracle.
    • Develop Java code solutions to address key features removed from Java 8 and any deprecated API s.
  • Code java solutions to address data security, reduce data compromise risk due to java patch levels and OWASP Top10 code security issues cross site scripting, SQL / code injection, etc.
