Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Guest Experience and Product Development (GEPD) team focuses on innovation and continuously improving our products and services for both our guests and crew. As the team’s data analyst, you will help in-house departments make informed business decisions, driving a better experience for our guests and positively impacting our bottom line.
 
You will be working with data from Guest Satisfaction Surveys, Shipboard Systems and other sources to provide business insights and create presentations for our department heads with high visibility throughout Holland America Line. Periodically, you will also dive into various financial databases for analyzing onboard spend, purchase pattern etc.
 
Responsibilities:
 
Customer Experience (CX)
  • Become the subject matter expert (SME) for the CX guest survey data
  • Become the SME for our CX text analytics platform & data integrity
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis on a voyage-level to identify cause of low score
  • Run monthly/quarterly/annual reporting and own its accuracy
  • Create compelling visualizations for management presentations
  • Build recurring reports & dashboards for various business owners as needed
  • Maintain & improve existing reports as new technology becomes available
  • Periodic sentiment analysis for topics where structured data is not available
  • Periodic audits of data warehouse tables and survey provider for accuracy
  • Monitor & update fleet CX targets on an annual basis or as needed
  • Coordinate with IT to update CX dataflow automated processes (JIRA)
  • Ad hoc analysis & reporting as needed
Shipboard System Data
  • Prepare reports for corporate & onboard management from a variety of systems. Past projects have included meal count, consumption, inventory, crew pay, cashbooks, security entry, reservation, POS, inspection, gift orders, fraud, guest complaints & compensation, and maintenance service orders.
  • Data mining needed when new data sources present themselves
  • Work with Fleet IT when discovering and investigating new data sources.
Miscellaneous Duties
  • Discover and investigate new sources for data, working with Fleet IT to incorporate findings
  • Work on complex development BI projects including the proactive identification of issues and coordination of resolutions
Requirements:
  • Strong proficiency in query/reporting tools, SQL, Advanced Excel, Tableau (or similar visualization tool)
  • Understanding of Forecasting, Data cleansing and Transformations
  • Dashboards, KPIs, and Target/Budget development
  • Ability to work on complex development BI projects including the proactive identification of issues and coordination of resolutions.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and handle changing priorities.
