Position Description Overview
Candidate will be working on software development projects that will enhance First Data's capability to provide industry analytics, operational reporting, and data integration services to it largest merchant including Walmart, Apple, Amazon, and Google. Candidate will have the opportunity to work on applications that are scaled to process and deliver information on hundreds of million of transaction per day. Applications are diverse in technology as First Data's merchants are diverse in their requirements for delivery information.

First Data is looking for an entry-level JAVA/J2EE back-end Application Developer. Candidates must have a degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 1-3 years of experience in software development utilizing JEE technologies.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for coding, programming, testing, and analyzing application software. Supports existing business systems applications.
  • Consults with business analysts to identify business needs and appropriate technical solutions. Design and document moderately complex technical requirements for business applications.
  • Expert knowledge of one or more development language(s) and tool(s). Must be able to determine and document complex software or system functional specifications.
  • Understands basic internal business processes or functions. Consults with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications.
  • Designs and develops computer systems or programs, including prototypes, based on user defined requirements.
  • Writes code, programs, tests, and analyzes new application software. Negotiates with vendors to determine price and technical functionality.
  • Formulates management policies for user rights and security. Advise IT management about IT issues within the Company. Performs additional job duties as required.
Scope of Job
Works on moderately complex projects with moderate to high breadth of responsibility. Participates in far-reaching research projects, making important decisions. Provides little to no coaching to less experienced peers. Must be able to consult with other users on moderately complex system specifications.
 
Job Requirements
  • 0-2 yrs. of related IT experience. Bachelor Degree at College of Engineering and Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • Candidates must be sharp, energized, and dedicated applicants with strong communication skills. You should have a solid foundation or coursework in OOP, design patterns, algorithms, and other programming languages.
  • Must be able to determine and document moderately complex software or system functional specifications. Understands moderately complex internal business processes or functions.
  • Advanced communication or presentations skills.
  • Prefer internship experience with software languages like JAVA/ J2EE or C or similar languages.
  • Must be a recent graduate and legally authorized to work in US without any visa restrictions or sponsorship.
